Morgantown High School music department hosted "Spirit of America" on Thursday with performances by MHS-UHS orchestras and the MHS choirs and Wind Ensemble, at the Metropolitan Theater on High St. The MHS-UHS Orchestra was directed by Joel Cotter; the MHS choirs were directed by Dr. Lauren Brandon Lindsey, and accompanist Dr. Hooi Yin Boey. "Americana Overture," "Considering the Pledge," "Star Spangled Banner," "Ashoken Farewell," "Oh Shenandoah," and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" were all performed during the first program. "Four Freedoms," "Yankee Doodle," "Pacific Island Fantasy," "Hoe Down" from "Rodeo", "Can you Hear," "Salute to the Armed Forces," and "America the Beautiful" were all performed during the second program.
